Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is an opportunity that allows high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to take courses at Northland Community and Technical College to earn both college and high school credit.

What is Post-Secondary Enrollment Options?

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is an opportunity that allows high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to take courses at Northland Community and Technical College to earn both college and high school credit. Students have the opportunity to choose a variety of challenging coursework that may meet graduation standards as well as provide preparation for future career goals. There is no cost to students for tuition, fees, and course required textbooks, materials, and equipment. Students are not allowed to take courses with supplemental fees greater than $85, or remedial courses (below 1000 level).

Excluded PSEO Programs & Courses

Programs

The following programs are not covered by PSEO funding and are ineligible for PSEO enrollment at Northland:

NOTE: Excluded programs may have required general education or Minnesota Transfer Curriculum courses that are available to PSEO students.

Courses

  • PSEO eligible courses are offered during the fall and spring terms at Northland Community & Technical College.
  • The Minnesota Department of Education does not fund courses taken during the summer. If a PSEO student chooses to enroll in courses during the summer term, the tuition, fees and books are the student’s responsibility.

College in the High School

CHS allows qualified students to earn college credit prior to high school graduation.

College in the High School offers challenging, engaging courses to eligible high school students throughout Northwest Minnesota. Your College in the High School courses are the same courses that are taught on-campus at Northland.

Through College in the High School (CHS), qualified students like you can earn college credit prior to high school graduation. It gives you a head start on your college career before you even leave high school. CHS differs from other pre-college credit programs in that your own high school instructors teach you the college courses during your normal school day, at your own high school. You don't need to come to the Northland campuses to take the class.

Online College in the High School

Online CHS allows students to remain in their high school setting while taking online college courses.

College in the High School provides 42 partner high schools with access to online, college level courses in several goal areas of the Mn Transfer Curriculum and technical course options. Through Online College in the High School, students have the opportunity to remain in their high school setting while taking online college courses that provide rich content and experience with a method of learning they will surely encounter as they continue their education and career aspirations.

College in the High School offers challenging, engaging courses to eligible high school students throughout Minnesota. The program provides unique features including college transcription, exclusive online sections for program students, published student achievement data, on site proctors at each high school, and a customized application and registration process. In addition to day time support, direct student and high school support is available at night and on weekends by phone and live chat.
