Frequently Asked Questions

Scholarships are established by individuals who care deeply about Northland Community and Technical College and its students. Some donors are Northland alumni, who were themselves the beneficiaries of student aid. There are different types of scholarships: Endowed and Annual.

Selection is based on a student’s match with a scholarship’s criteria.

  • We ask that our scholarship students connect with the donors who sponsor their scholarships each year. One option is to write a thank you card to your scholarship donor.
  • Additionally, we host a Scholarship Celebration for students and donors. All scholarship recipients, as well as donors, are invited to this event. We expect that scholarship recipients will attend this event.
  • There may be additional opportunities to meet your donor. For example, if your donor comes to campus, we may reach out to set up an in-person meeting for lunch or coffee. Also, we may ask you to share a testimony about the impact of scholarship support at Northland for marketing materials.

No problem. The Academic Success Center has tutors available to assist you.
