Northland Pioneers softball advances to Regional Tournament

MAY 9, 2018 — The Northland Pioneers softball team has qualified for the NJCAA Region XIIIB Women’s Fastpitch Tournament that will take place Thursday and Friday, May 10-11, at the Paul C. Findorff Athletics Complex in Brainerd, Minnesota.

The double elimination bracket style tournament will feature #1 Central Lakes College, #2 Itasca Community College, #3 Northland and #4 Mesabi Range College. Quarterfinal round matchups will see Central Lakes taking on Mesabi Range, while Itasca will face the Pioneers. The two remaining teams will compete in the championship game on Friday, May 11 at 2:00 PM.

In the event the tournament cannot be completed due to bad weather, the highest remaining seeded team will automatically be awarded the bid to the NJCAA DIII National Tournament held in Rochester, Minnesota, on May 17-19.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for students.
