January 22, 2020 – Northland Community and Technical College student Luke Jeska has been awarded the Warren H. Robens & Henry P. Dembiczak Scholarship. The Robens & Dembiczak Scholarship is a statewide Lead MN award given to only six Minnesota students annually.

Mr. Warren H. Robens and Mr. Henry P. Dembiczak shared a commitment to the communities where they were raised and where they lived. They also shared a strong commitment to higher education with a passion for technical education. This scholarship was created to provide support for students enrolled in a technical course of study within Minnesota State.

Jeska, a graduate of North High School in North St. Paul, MN, is a sophomore at Northland pursuing a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. He is set to graduate in May 2020. After graduation, Jeska looks to land a career with a large airline as an avionics technician.

Jeska has been an integral part of Northland’s student life by serving as the Thief River Falls campus Student Senate President and member of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association. “Luke Jeska is without question, one of the most discerning leaders that Northland has boasted for many years. Luke genuinely cares about his fellow students, his program, his career, and his campus,” Jason Pangiarella, Northland Student Success Coordinator and Advisor enthusiastically illustrates, “As a leader, Luke is considerate of everyone he works with. He thoughtfully approaches decisions and listens to other campus leaders at length. This scholarship is well-deserved, and Minnesota’s future is in exemplary hands with Luke at the forefront of his community and profession.”
