November 1, 2021 – The Northland Community Band is taking the stage at Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls on Friday, November 19. The Northland Community Band is back on stage two years after their last performance in 2019 with the High School Honor Band.

This concert will solely feature the Northland Community Band and offers a wide variety of musical entertainment. The program includes a suite of Gershwin tunes, two novel contemporary pieces that use electronic recordings as accompaniments, a medley of pieces made famous by Prince, a selection from the Final Fantasy videogame series, and a medley of polkas.

The Northland Community Band is a community-based instrumental group under the direction of Linda Samuelson boasting a talented group of 34 local musicians from Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls, Goodridge, Karlstad, Leonard, Middle River, Roseau, and Warren. This full ensemble is ready and excited to take the stage to demonstrate that a two-year hiatus due to COVID restrictions hasn’t dulled their enthusiasm for performing together or for presenting high-quality instrumental literature.

Admission for the Fall Band Concert is free to attend as a thank you to the community and college for their continued support. The doors will open at 6:30 pm with the program set to begin at 7:00 pm. As with all Minnesota State system locations, a mask is required for entry to the campus.

For more information, you can contact Linda Samuelson, Music Instructor, at 218-683-8717 or by email at linda.samuelson@northlandcollege.edu.
