Northland to Host Community Open House on September 28 at Thief River Falls Campus

Northland will welcome area educators, business leaders, industry partners, and community members.

August 20, 2022 – Northland will open its doors to the community for an open house on Wednesday, September 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Thief River Falls campus. This event will allow community members to explore the magnitude of what Northland offers in educational opportunities, workforce development, and industry partnerships.

“I know how important the college is to the community and we are pleased to invite you in to see what all that Northland offers,” said Northland President Sandy Kiddoo. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for Northland to show what it means to make a difference in people’s lives and be a critical workforce resource.”

The college-wide showcase will feature numerous faculty and staff from several departments as they participate in a show-and-tell that demonstrates why Northland continues to be one of the region’s leading destinations for educating today’s students.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Northland leaders, faculty, and staff, experience interactive program demonstrations, tour state-of-the-art classrooms, and lab spaces, and mingle with fellow community members.

Appetizers will be served, and The Hive will host a cash bar. Prize drawings will be held for gift certificates to local businesses, with a grand prize drawing for a $100 gift card to Sky’s Fine Dining and tickets to see Carrie Underwood at the Alerus Center.

Kiddoo continued, “As a college committed to providing access to a quality education at an affordable cost, opening doors is what we do best as a community of educators. Our amazing faculty and staff want to engage with you and demonstrate what we do in our facilities every day to educate students.”

Throughout the evening, visitors are welcome to speak with experts in a wide variety of fields, including healthcare, aerospace, manufacturing, public safety, business, liberal arts, education, automotive, agriculture, and more.

The event is free, and those looking to attend should RSVP in advance. Every RSVP includes appetizers, a complementary Northland gift bag, and automatic entry to the evening’s prize giveaways.
