Introduction

Respiratory Therapy A.A.S.

Program Overview

Shape healthier futures by restoring breath, strength, and hope through respiratory therapy.

Northland’s Respiratory Therapist A.A.S. program prepares you for a vital role in healthcare, helping patients with cardiopulmonary conditions breathe easier and live healthier lives. Under physician supervision, respiratory therapists administer oxygen and gas therapies, deliver aerosolized medications, perform chest physiotherapy, analyze arterial blood gases, conduct pulmonary function tests, manage mechanical ventilators, and educate patients and families. This HyFlex program offers flexible learning options—students can complete theory coursework in person, live online via Zoom, or asynchronously—while gaining essential hands-on experience through required in-person labs and clinicals. With a strong foundation in respiratory care and patient-centered training, graduates are well-prepared to pursue licensure and begin a meaningful career in hospitals, clinics, and emergency care settings.
