Course Description:
This course covers an understanding of ethical codes of the health care system, basic operation and organizational structure of a laboratory, effective communication skills, knowledge of phlebotomy methods and procedures, safety practices, quality assurance, organizational skills and sample collection criteria necessary to be successful as a phlebotomist. Students enter patient, or donor, information, often interfaced with computers, and communicate with the entire health care team and public to ensure quality care for patients and donors.
